Seismic 2007 US Nationals of Slalom Skateboarding
August 23-26, Longmont and Windsor Colorado
The Seismic US Nationals of Slalom Skateboarding is the premier event of slalom skateboard racing in America, will return to beautiful Downtown Longmont ColoRADo for the 2nd year in a row. Racers from all over our continent and the world will be competing in 4 disciplines of slalom skateboarding, the events are Banked Slalom at the world class Longmont Skatepark at Sandstone Park Thursday evening, a 22 second 1/4 mile dual lane Giant Slalom in Windsor Colorado on Friday, A fast, technical Hybrid Slalom race in Downtown Longmont on Saturday and the Tight Slalom race will be held in Downtown Longmont, just off Main Street on Sunday. Racers in several classes will be battling for the honor of being named National Champion in each event, and overall titles will be awarded for the combined placing in all 4 events.

Skateboard racing differs from other televised forms of skateboarding, as there is a clear winner, no judging, no politics, the fastest, best runs win the races. Racers race head to head in all events except for the Banked Slalom, creating exciting, spectator friendly events for the crowds we expect to have on hand.

“About the Denmark trip, it was a big HIT! So awesome! Longboarding in Denmark seemed to be almost unknown. But hopefully we've been able to spread the word about it during our trip. We got two big newspapers to write about us and we met SOOO many interested people. Denmark had great bicycle roads along their highway with great asphalt, which worked really good for longboarding. This made it alot easier and less heavy and we skated about 50-70 kilometers per day instead of 30-40. The weather was on our side, while almost all places in Denmark got rain, we got sunshine all days but one. But no rain could stop us. Haha.

We slept in tent 3 days and the rainy day we had to hide in a hotel, everything was soaking wet. Since the trip was so nice we're thinking of maybe organizing trips for a group of people going from Helsingör to Copenhagen, which is one of the most beautiful roads in europe. We would then start in Helsingör skate the whole day and then camp outside Copenhagen, where we'll have a big barbeque parrty and then the next day go skate Copenhagen.”

Take a look at how stoked this guys is, here's his story.
Meet Doug Edwards, he showed up at the West Linn Race early. He signed up for the 50 to Dead class (So I really don't know his age) but here's how his day went.

We set the course up- its not super easy, 14 cones, spread through the park. The start was a somewhat steep waterfall onto the course. Well during practice, I noticed this gentleman sizing it up the course, walking around very cautiously. After a good stint, he finally grabbed his trusty deck and got into the start box. His first run was disaster- a good slam at 9am is not easy to get up from- let alone being in the 50's.

We all took notice of Doug, and started coax him back onto the horse so to speak. Well his next run, he went maybe 3 cones before another step off. He did have a smile, so we got him back to the start box. He nearly completes it on his 3rd try. As you can imagine, we sent him back to the start box (he got special treatment) and he completes a full run to a roaring crowd. THIS IS ONLY PRACTICE!

So he patiently waits his class. He is the last skater to go, by this time the spectators were lining up around the park, baby strollers, joggers and a few officers. Doug dropped in and almost made it complete- he did make it to our finish area, so I counted the time. He got his breath, and he went, the park was roaring for him, he makes it completely through the whole course. Everyone is slamming boards, the place was a rock concert for a moment.

Well, Tom Inouye and I drooled over this LB for a week, but we both decided that one person deserved it, and we gave it to Doug Edwards. Its the sweetest picture of a man with a skateboard I have ever seen.

6-25-07: Riviera is sponsoring Skate Danmark 07. Two friends (Karl-Johan Ericsson and Niclas Dua) are skating from Helsingborg (Sweden) to Puttgarden (Germany) thru Denmark. 6-21-07: We got the word from Paris Trucks to start selling the gold trucks. So Everyone feel free to order some and pimp out your ride.

6-21-07: We received our 2nd shipment of boards and things are going great, we shipped out a grip of orders yesterday. Orders went out to the states, to Canada, Sweden, Germany and many other places. We're all really happy with things, we’re all just laughing at what we do for work... Play with skateboards

6-1-07: We’ve moved into a larger warehouse, we saw with our first order that the current warehouse was not going to cut it. A larger one opened up in our complex, so we grabbed it. It's nice having room to pack boxes, skate around and do cartwheels if we wanted to. I'm not saying we do, I'm just saying.

5-8-07: We’ve hired Zach Lyall for Outside sales. Zach Currently Reps for Mada Clothing, West Wetsuits and Creatures of Leisure. We’re super stoked to have him on the team. Within 2 hours of meeting him and giving him product, we got the call. He got us into Rip Curl in two test markets, one in Pacific Beach and one in Santa Cruz. Talk about a good first day in the office. Good Job Zach!

4-11-07: THE PRODUCT IS IN! We just received our first shipment of completes yesterday and it all looks so good. The Hula board turned out even better then expected! Now it’s time to really start working, we have tons of pre-booked orders to ship as well as new shops to chase down. Today, the UPS man thought we were joking when we said we had a lot to ship. We nearly filled up half his truck on the first day of shipping!

The Online Store should be ready by next week. Stop in and pick up a new complete and we’ll cover the shipping charges. See ya soon!
